About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Meet or exceed assigned sales goals through outside sales and other activities
  • Build, develop, and manage new and existing relationships with Centers of Influence, clients, and prospects
  • Consult with clients and prospects to understand home lending and business goals
  • Identify and promote U.S. Bancorp products and services to meet customer and bank needs
  • Build and maintain profitable lending and deposit relationships
  • Consult with clients at their places of business to identify institutional home lending needs and financial goals
  • Grow a profitable loan portfolio by establishing relationships and generating leads
  • Deepen client and COI relationships through additional products and services
  • Refer clients to other U.S. Bancorp areas for additional needs
  • Represent the bank at civic and community functions to develop business opportunities
  • Partner with Consumer Direct MLO to develop and implement sales strategy and exchange leads/referrals
  • Conduct joint outside sales calls with bank partners
  • Develop and manage customized sales and marketing plans
  • Refer clients to branch and support members for ongoing account maintenance
  • Ensure compliance with the U.S. Bank Code of Ethics, Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Secrecy Act, information security, and suspicious activity reporting requirements
  • Participate in required corporate and business line training
  • Follow account opening procedures and internal suspicious activity referral processes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in mortgage lending, relationship banking, or a related sales role
  • Demonstrated success in outside sales, business development, and relationship management
  • Experience developing and managing relationships with clients and Centers of Influence (COIs)
  • Strong consultative selling skills and ability to assess client needs and recommend financial solutions
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals and building a profitable pipeline
  • Comprehensive knowledge of mortgage products, home lending processes, and market trends
  • National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration required under the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008 and Regulation Z
  • Must undergo the required NMLS registration process, including criminal background and credit checks
  • Ability to meet and maintain NMLS registration requirements, including a satisfactory criminal and credit record
  • Preferred: Mortgage loan origination, outside sales, or related banking/sales experience with demonstrated production results
  • Preferred: Active participation in community or industry organizations
  • Preferred: Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Preferred: Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Preferred: Experience developing and executing customized sales and marketing plans
  • Preferred: Ability to assess financial needs and recommend tailored home lending solutions
  • Preferred: Ability to generate self-sourced business and maintain a consistent pipeline
  • Preferred: Experience partnering cross-functionally to exchange referrals and deepen client relationships
