About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support U.S. Bank's Corporate Payment Systems (CPS) by writing responses to Requests for Proposal (RFPs)
  • Create additional documents, including pricing proposals, standard program proposals, Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Quotations (RFQs), and ad hoc documents for external clients
  • Manage projects independently and with adherence to detailed client specifications, with turnaround times in a typical range of one day to three weeks
  • Interact with sales and relationship management staffs to integrate pricing into formal proposal documents
  • Collaborate with product, marketing, finance, and subject matter experts to update product information, sales positioning, and proposal content to support the agreed-upon sales strategy

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Marketing or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Three to five years of business writing experience in sales support, proposal generation, marketing, communications, publishing or print media
  • Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively on unfamiliar topics to elicit technical and program information necessary to answer client questions
  • Ability to quickly assimilate new information regarding specific product and technical topics and write accurately about those topics or concepts immediately after introduction
  • Possesses technical ability to adapt to proposal tools and software used by the company
  • Strong organizational skills and an eye for presentation and details
  • Ability to manage routine administrative tasks
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines while managing multiple projects
  • Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages including Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience developing and managing responses to RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs
  • Experience coordinating proposal submissions involving multiple contributors and subject matter experts
  • Familiarity with proposal management platforms such as Responsive (RFPIO), Qvidian , or similar tools
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Financial services, payments, treasury management, commercial card, or corporate payments industry experience is a plus
