About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Partner with Senior to Executive Leaders in their assigned Line of Business, Business Risk Consultants, Business Risk Managers and other Senior Business Risk Managers
  • Oversee the successful creation, implementation, and maintenance of an effective risk management framework
  • Accountable for projects and/or activities that ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations
  • Identify gaps and drive solutions that minimize losses resulting from inadequate internal processes, systems or human errors
  • Actively identify, response and/or escalate risks as appropriate
  • Maximize profit potential and minimize regulatory exposure
  • Ensure effective partnership between the Line of Business and the Lines of Defense

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
  • 15 or more years of applicable experience
  • Applicable certifications
  • Expert understanding of the business line's operations, products/services, systems, and associated risks/controls
  • Expert understanding of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends that impact their assigned line of business
  • Proven ability to build and manage a team of business risk professionals who have credibility and work directly with business line management
  • Expert knowledge of business risk competencies
  • Strong skills in leadership and management of process, projects and people
  • Well-developed analytical skills
  • Advanced relationship and negotiation skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, planning and implementation skills
  • Effective skills at managing stressful situations
  • Proficient computer navigation skills, particularly word processing, spreadsheet, databases, and presentations
