About the role

  • Build relationships with customers, engaging via multiple channels including in-person, by appointment, and virtually to provide counsel
  • Assess and attend to customers’ banking needs and obtain and process customer and account information
  • Demonstrate and educate clients on available deposit and loan products and services and recommend solutions based on each customer’s goals and needs
  • Proactively outreach and follow up with clients; ask questions and learn about financial needs and channel preferences
  • Maintain working knowledge of consumer and business banking products and digital products and services
  • Provide consistent optimal client experience, including greeting clients and processing basic transactions
  • Develop collaborative partnerships with branch team members and partners to best serve clients
  • Open new consumer and business accounts, complete service requests and submit credit applications
  • Proactively educate clients on emerging and self-service digital products and services
  • Leverage available resources and technologies to optimize the client experience and serve clients with operational excellence and accuracy
  • Position requires NMLS registration and associated background/credit checks

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Client Relationship Consultant 1: typically 1–2 years of job-related, retail banking experience or a combination of experience and commensurate training
  • Client Relationship Consultant 2: typically 3–4 years of job-related, retail banking experience or a combination of experience and commensurate training
  • Client Relationship Consultant 3: typically 4–5 years of job-related, retail banking experience or a combination of experience and commensurate training
  • Client Relationship Consultant 4: typically 5+ years of job-related, retail banking experience or a combination of experience and commensurate training
  • National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration required under the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008 and Regulation Z; subject to criminal background and credit check
  • Knowledge of applicable bank and branch policies, procedures and support systems (basic to advanced depending on level)
  • Thorough knowledge of retail products and services (required for higher levels)
  • Experience with using and demonstrating digital products and self-service technologies
  • Proven customer service and interpersonal skills; ability to effectively engage and communicate with clients
  • Ability to explore and identify a customer’s true needs and make appropriate recommendations
  • Experience participating in sales campaigns/promotions (preferred for levels 3 and 4)
  • Ability to comply with U.S. Bank policies and Code of Ethics and Business Conduct; eligibility checks including E-Verify where applicable
