About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develops database models to meet business requirements.
- Defines data requirements and business rules.
- Performs physical data modeling.
- Implements and tests database design.
- Plans for collection method, data cleansing, and normalization of enterprise data to support decision-making and reporting.
- Ensures integrity of data, software, and hardware.
- Coordinates data models, dictionaries, and other database documentation across multiple applications.
- Partners with data transformation teams to ensure design is properly communicated.
- Develops policies and procedures related to development and support of new and ongoing systems.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- At least 8 years experience within a total information technology (IT) environment.
- At least 5 years experience with the development and implementation of logical and physical data models.
- At least 5 years experience with tools, facilities and techniques for managing and administering data.
- Advanced expertise in SQL Server (on-prem) and experience modernizing legacy data platforms to cloud-based architectures
- Hands-on experience building data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows using tools like Python, AWS Glue, or similar
- Practical experience with AWS data services (S3, RDS/Aurora, Redshift) and designing scalable data lake or warehouse solutions
- Proven ability to implement hybrid connectivity and data movement between on-prem SQL Server and AWS (e.g., replication, migration, synchronization)
- Experience enabling Power BI reporting on cloud or hybrid data platforms with a focus on performance optimization
- Strong proficiency in C#, ASP.NET, and REST API development with experience supporting data-driven applications
- Familiarity with DevOps and deployment practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automation, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
