About the role

  • Build relationships with customers via multiple channels including in-person, by appointment, and virtually
  • Assess and attend to customers’ banking needs and obtain/process customer and account information
  • Demonstrate and educate clients on available deposit and loan products and services and recommend solutions based on customer goals
  • Proactively outreach and follow up with clients to identify and meet financial needs
  • Maintain working knowledge of consumer and business banking products and services, including digital products and services
  • Provide consistent optimal client experience including greeting clients and processing basic transactions
  • Develop collaborative partnerships with branch team members and partners to best serve clients
  • Open new consumer and business accounts, complete service requests and submit credit applications
  • Proactively educate clients on emerging and self-service digital products and services
  • Leverage available resources and technologies to optimize the client experience and serve clients with operational excellence and accuracy
  • For Premier Client Relationship Consultants: hold FINRA registrations and refer clients to registered representatives in partnership with wealth management teams (referral only)

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Client Relationship Consultant 2: typically has a minimum three to four years of job-related, retail banking experience or a combination of experience and commensurate training
  • Client Relationship Consultant 3: typically has a minimum four to five years of job-related, retail banking experience or a combination of experience and commensurate training
  • Client Relationship Consultant 4: typically has five or more years of job-related, retail banking experience or a combination of experience and commensurate training
  • Proven ability to build and foster relationships with clients through proactive outreach and follow up
  • Ability to effectively engage and communicate with clients
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable bank and branch policies, procedures and support systems
  • Thorough knowledge of all retail products and services (level dependent)
  • Proven customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with using and demonstrating digital products and self-service technologies
  • Experience in participating in sales campaigns/promotions (preferred for higher levels)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in making appropriate recommendations that meet customer’s needs
  • National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration required (subject to criminal background and credit check)
  • For Premier roles: FINRA SIE, Series 6 (or Series 7) and Series 63 (or Series 66) registrations required and must be actively maintained
  • Ability to comply with U.S. Bank policies and procedures including the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct
  • Ability to pass background checks and comply with applicable regulations (Reg Z, OFAC, Bank Secrecy Act, SAFE Act, etc.)
