About the role

  • Build relationships with customers in-person, by appointment, and virtually to provide counsel and financial solutions
  • Assess and attend to customers’ banking needs, obtain and process customer and account information
  • Demonstrate and educate clients on available deposit and loan products and services and recommend solutions
  • Proactively outreach and follow up with clients to learn financial needs and channel preferences
  • Maintain working knowledge of consumer and business banking products and digital products and services
  • Provide consistent optimal client experience, including greeting clients and processing basic transactions
  • Develop collaborative partnerships with branch team members and partners to best serve clients
  • Open new consumer and business accounts, complete service requests, and submit credit applications
  • Proactively educate clients on emerging and self-service digital products and leverage resources and technologies to optimize the client experience
  • Role requires NMLS registration process (criminal background and credit check) for mortgage activities

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Typically 1-2 years (Client Relationship Consultant 1) to 5+ years (Client Relationship Consultant 4) of job-related retail banking experience or a combination of experience and commensurate training
  • Proven ability to build and foster relationships with clients through proactive outreach and follow up
  • Ability to effectively engage and communicate with clients
  • Basic to advanced knowledge of applicable bank and branch policies, procedures and support systems (varies by level)
  • Proven customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with using and demonstrating digital products and self-service technologies
  • Ability to explore and identify a customer’s true needs while leveraging a digital first mindset
  • Demonstrated proficiency in making appropriate product recommendations
  • Experience in participating in sales campaigns/promotions (preferred for higher levels)
  • Experience in the financial services industry preferred
  • Must obtain and maintain National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration (SAFE Act/Regulation Z) — subject to criminal background and credit check
  • Ability to comply with U.S. Bank policies and procedures including the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct and related workplace conduct and safety policies
