About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist the audit team management in planning audit engagements.
- Perform or supervise staff auditors in the testing of controls based on audit program directions.
- Draft audit issues under the supervision of the audit team management.
- Assist the audit team management in the reporting and wrap-up phases of audits.
- Apply feedback and coaching to improve performance and outcomes.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Typically more than five years of applicable experience
- Basic knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends that impact mortgage originations including Truth in Lending Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act and other applicable consumer regulations.
- Basic understanding of mortgage loan originations, mortgage servicing operations, and investor (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, USDA) guidelines
- Thorough knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies
- Strong analytical, process facilitation and project management skills
- Effective presentation, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages, including Microsoft Office applications and word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations
