About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Exhibits a mix of technical acumen, strategy and vision, along with the ability to cultivate and grow technical talent
- Responsible for designing, developing, implementing and testing a set of technical products in response to an external or internal need
- Enables strong coding practices and solid design decisions
- Builds meaningful relationships with relevant stakeholders and effectively partners to remove organizational obstacles and guide cross-team strategic efforts
- Acts as agile/product champion by enabling product teams and partnering with other leaders to drive empowerment, autonomy, engineering momentum, and business value
- Fosters a culture of empowerment, engineering excellence, and growth
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Eight or more years of relevant software engineering experience
- Five or more years of experience leading a software engineering team
- Strong understanding of information systems, software development lifecycles, and modern engineering practices
- Experience working within banking, payments, or financial services technology environments
- Exposure to branch banking systems, ATM transaction processing, and digital banking integrations
- Proven experience modernizing legacy enterprise platforms into scalable, resilient architectures
- Deep business domain knowledge with the ability to evaluate and communicate technology impact on organizational outcomes
- Robust engineering foundation with the ability to design and deliver scalable product solutions
- Demonstrated leadership experience with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences
- Strong decision-making capabilities with a track record of building consensus and influencing stakeholders
- Hands-on experience with distributed systems, middleware platforms, and transaction processing systems
- Expertise in system design, scalability, and resiliency engineering
- Experience integrating and extending vendor-based platforms within enterprise ecosystems
