About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Partner with assigned Line of Business and other Risk/Compliance/Audit (RCA) professionals
- Supervise audit staff in the completion of audit engagements
- Assess work performed and provide coaching notes
- Complete sufficient reviews to ensure work meets internal audit policies
- Complete or assist managers in planning audit engagements
- Assist managers in reporting and wrap-up phases of audits
- Monitor progress of audit engagements against plan and schedule
- Provide on-the-job training for staff
- Collaborate across the three lines of defense regarding business processes, risks, and controls
- Coordinate audit activities by integrating other internal audit subject matter teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Typically, more than six years of applicable experience
- Relevant Financial Service Industry knowledge (e.g., Accounting, Financial Reporting, Tax, SOX, M&A, Lending, Regulatory Compliance, Operations, Risk Management, etc.)
- Experience in auditing risks and controls within Financial Services (e.g. Accounting, Tax, Financial Reporting, SOX, M&A, etc.)
- Seven or more years of experience in internal auditing, public accounting or other relevant experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Proven leadership skills.
- Proven adaptability to changing priorities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- Thorough understanding of Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Standards and the common definition of internal controls.
- CIA, CPA or other relevant professional designation or advanced degree.
