About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Partner with assigned Line of Business and other Risk/Compliance/Audit (RCA) professionals
  • Supervise audit staff in the completion of audit engagements
  • Assess work performed and provide coaching notes
  • Complete sufficient reviews to ensure work meets internal audit policies
  • Complete or assist managers in planning audit engagements
  • Assist managers in reporting and wrap-up phases of audits
  • Monitor progress of audit engagements against plan and schedule
  • Provide on-the-job training for staff
  • Collaborate across the three lines of defense regarding business processes, risks, and controls
  • Coordinate audit activities by integrating other internal audit subject matter teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Typically, more than six years of applicable experience
  • Relevant Financial Service Industry knowledge (e.g., Accounting, Financial Reporting, Tax, SOX, M&A, Lending, Regulatory Compliance, Operations, Risk Management, etc.)
  • Experience in auditing risks and controls within Financial Services (e.g. Accounting, Tax, Financial Reporting, SOX, M&A, etc.)
  • Seven or more years of experience in internal auditing, public accounting or other relevant experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Proven adaptability to changing priorities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Thorough understanding of Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Standards and the common definition of internal controls.
  • CIA, CPA or other relevant professional designation or advanced degree.
