About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Interpret and advise on emerging AI-related laws, regulations, and guidance (e.g., banking regulations, consumer protection, data privacy, algorithmic accountability, AI safety requirements)
  • Monitor global regulatory developments related to AI and machine learning and assess impact on enterprise strategy and operations
  • Partner with risk and technology teams to advise on legal risks associated with training data, model transparency, bias mitigation, and system outputs
  • Provide practical legal guidance in the design and deployment of generative AI and automated decisioning systems
  • Provide assistance to the Procurement team with review and negotiating contracts with AI vendors, cloud providers, and data licensors
  • Educate Law Division and business leaders on AI-related legal risks and opportunities
  • Work with Legal Operations to develop strategy for Law Division’s use of AI

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Licensed by and in good standing with the appropriate state bar association or other appropriate state attorney licensing authority
  • 10+ years of legal experience, with significant experience in financial services, technology, or regulatory counseling
  • Expertise in AI/ML technology issues, privacy law, and data governance
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives in highly regulated environments
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
