About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Responsible for the administration and execution of testing activities within the Independent Risk Review (IRR)
  • Partner with WCIB Business Units (BUs) and other Risk, Compliance, and Audit Professionals to help create, implement, maintain, review, and oversee an effective risk management framework
  • Complete projects and/or activities that confirm compliance with fiduciary/trust requirements and applicable laws and regulations
  • Identify control and process weaknesses through testing activities
  • Partner with BUs and Risk Management groups to recommend and influence solutions to mitigate compliance risks
  • Effectively communicate testing results to the Manager, including well-written draft reports, and respond to and/or escalate significant risks as appropriate
  • Provide oversight, coaching, feedback, etc., specific to the work completed by supporting Analysts

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Typically, more than six years of applicable experience
  • Considerable knowledge of fiduciary/trust requirements, applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends that impact the trust businesses (e.g., Corporate Trust, Institutional Trust, and Personal Trust/Wealth Management)
  • Considerable understanding of Trust/Wealth Management operations, products/services, systems, and associated risks/controls
  • Thorough knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies
  • Strong analytical, process facilitation and project management skills
  • Effective presentation, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective relationship building and negotiation skills
  • Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages, including Microsoft Office applications and word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations
  • Applicable professional certifications or Juris Doctor
