About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Head of Sustainability and the Sustainability Team in the continued development and execution of sustainability data products and sub-domain strategy
  • Focus on client financed emissions and net zero transition analytics
  • Support data product development through requirements gathering, program management, data analysis and data science expertise, including carbon accounting across Scopes 1, 2 and 3
  • Integration and analysis of Scope 3, Category 15 (client) financed emissions
  • Decarbonization pathway analysis across the real economy
  • Internal dashboarding and reporting aligned with the Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF) methodology, evolving industry standards, regulatory requirements and sustainable finance commercialization strategies
  • Track and report on sustainability data domain strategy
  • Partner with business stakeholders in various business teams and enabling functions in Impact Finance and other enterprise partners

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, computer science, engineering or applied mathematics, or equivalent work experience
  • Six to eight years of relevant experience
  • Master’s degree in data science, earth/climate sciences, engineering, sustainability, natural resource management, environmental economics, finance or other related field (preferred)
  • Prior experience with designing and implementing large-scale data strategies and their execution in large organizations (preferred)
  • Understanding of data integrity considerations and proper risk and controls around developing audit-ready data (preferred)
  • Knowledge of other frameworks and standards, including PCAF, ISSB, CDP, GRI and other impact reporting frameworks and industry guidance (SBTi, Transition Plan Taskforce, etc), emerging regulatory requirements (California Climate Disclosure Act, EU CSRD) (preferred)
  • Practical experience with implementing GHG Protocol, supporting data procurement and analytics of leading sustainability reporting frameworks, specifically ISSB and PCAF and experience with climate-related data providers and sources (preferred)
  • Understanding of basics of corporate finance, familiarity with sustainable finance products and carbon markets (preferred)
  • Strong data science and visualization skills, with the ability to understand the business goals, needs, and be committed to delivering recommendations that will guide strategic decisions (preferred)
  • Deep expertise in SAAS, SQL, Python, Excel, PowerBI, NLP/LLM models, data scraping and generative AI applications (preferred)
  • Strong project management capabilities, with the ability to lead business requirements gathering, securing buy-in from requisite stakeholders, influencing without authority and ensuring timely execution (preferred)
  • Strong leadership skills and proven ability in motivating employees and promoting teamwork (preferred)
  • Excellent interpersonal, management, and teamwork skills (preferred)
  • Highly motivated self-starter with excellent time management skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and timelines (preferred)
  • High level of significant independent decision-making ability (preferred)
  • Ability to quickly identify risks and determine reasonable solutions (preferred)
