About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Produce track geometry design plans and specifications
- Produce design calculations, quantities, cost estimates
- Manage the track plans production schedule
- Perform QA/QC on each deliverable per project specific QA/QC procedure
- Collaborate with track design manager to implement best practices related to track design
- Conduct team meetings and attend project team meetings
- Draft and submit project work plan including schedule, budget and resource
- Support the design engineering manager and track design manager
- Supervise and mentor junior engineer staff
- Provide technical guidance to less experienced engineer staff
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate project team members
- Support planning and reviewing of project schedule
- Support International Group Railway Department in overseas projects
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum Education: bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in track geometry and track design
- Experience with local and national standards (AREMA, CPUC, etc)
- Knowledge of High-Speed Rail standards is a plus
- Experience with local public authorities (Metrolink, LA Metro, Amtrak, CAHSR, etc)
- Proficiency with either MicroStation Inroads, MicroStation PowerRail, MicroStation Openrail or AutoCAD Civil 3D design
- P.E license in California and other states is a plus
- Experience with Microsoft 365 Office
- Experience with Primavera, ProjectWise, BIM and 3D modeling software is a plus
- Valid driver's license, with the ability to maintain insurability under the company's insurance carrier.
