About the role
- Lead multiple concurrent projects and/or programs, accountable for scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk.
- Develop project execution plans, work breakdown structures, staffing plans, and delivery schedules.
- Manage project financials (budget development, forecasting, earned value/percent complete tracking, invoicing support).
- Drive QA/QC processes and ensure deliverables meet internal standards and client/regulatory requirements.
- Serve as a technical leader and reviewer within your specialty area (eg, dams, conveyance, treatment).
- Guide engineering approach, alternatives analysis, design criteria, and coordination across disciplines.
- Support permitting and coordination with relevant agencies and stakeholders as applicable to project type.
- Act as a primary point of contact for clients; build and maintain trusted relationships.
- Support pursuit efforts: scope development, fee estimates, schedules, teaming, and proposal content/reviews.
- Represent the firm in client meetings, public meetings (as needed), and professional organizations.
- Mentor and support Project Managers and engineering staff (coaching on delivery, communication, and technical growth).
Requirements
- Minimum Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) or a related field.
- A Master's level education (MSCE) or post-graduate study is preferred.
- Minimum twenty (20) years of progressive experience in water-related engineering.
- Proven success as a Senior PM/PM delivering complex water projects for municipal, state, federal, and/or private clients.
- Deep technical expertise in at least one niche, such as: Dams/levees/reservoirs (planning, safety, rehab, hydraulics/hydrology coordination)
- Conveyance (pipelines, pump stations, hydraulics, transmission/distribution)
- Treatment (water/wastewater treatment process integration, plant upgrades/expansions)
- Stormwater, storage, irrigation, integrated water management, or similar
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent international credential (active, in good standing).
- Strong project controls skills: scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, change management.
- Strong affinity for working on international projects and collaborating within multicultural teams.
- Strong written/verbal communication and ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and client discussions.
