About the role
- Hydraulic and Hydrologic (1D and 2D) Modelling of stormwater systems
- 1D/2D hydraulic modeling standards development and utilization (mesh resolution, inlet treatment, tidal boundaries, and flood extent calibration)
- Model calibration and validation, including statistical benchmarks and use of multiple storm events
- Modeling scenario development and assessments including climate change, sea level rise, and future land use scenarios
- Model alignment with FEMA mapping standards
- Modelling of combined and separate collection systems
- Develop Stormwater Management Plans
- Stormwater Water Quality Modeling
- Support Infrastructure Planning Studies, including Master Plans, Secondary Plans, and Permitting
- Engineering analysis, design support, servicing needs assessments, and servicing capacity evaluation
- Supporting and mentoring junior staff
Requirements
- Engineering Degree/Diploma or similar qualification is required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience
- Proficiency in modelling software
- PE certification in Maryland and Virginia or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Expertise in InfoWorks ICM, InfoSewer, and SewerGEMS
- Familiarity with InfoWater and WaterGEMS is an advantage
- Strong proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS
- Demonstrated capabilities in hydraulic and hydrologic analysis
- Strong understanding of FEMA standards and requirements
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and technical writing skills with attention to detail
