Lead the planning and design of rail and transit facilities across the Mid-Atlantic
Support business development efforts for transit and rail facilities
Coordinate with structural, MEP, and civil disciplines
Manage subconsultants and internal design teams
Interpret and apply design standards and building codes
Participate in client meetings and public presentations
Oversee production from conceptual design through construction documents
Conduct and oversee QA/QC reviews of architectural design deliverables
Requirements
Registered Architect (RA) or AIA professional membership in DC, Maryland, or Virginia (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program
Minimum 15 years of architectural experience, with a strong focus on transit, rail, or transportation infrastructure
Proven experience working with agencies such as WMATA, VRE, MDOT MTA, or Amtrak on projects including stations, operations centers, or maintenance facilities
Strong knowledge of regional building codes, ADA, NFPA, and relevant WMATA or state agency design criteria
Excellent written, verbal, and graphic communication skills
Demonstrated ability to lead, coordinate, and mentor project teams in a collaborative environment
