Key responsibilities & impact

Oversee daily HIM operations related to patient identity, chart correction, and data integrity.
Review and resolve merge, overlay, and demographic correction cases.
Provide day to day guidance to a small team of HIM analysts.
Monitor productivity, quality, and adherence to HIM standards.
Assist with scheduling, timecard review, and workflow coordination.
Collaborate with other departments to resolve HIM issues efficiently.
Support compliance with HIM policies, regulatory requirements, and customer service standards.
Participate in meetings and assist with additional HIM projects as needed.

Requirements

What you’ll need

3–5 years of HIM experience
1–2 years of team lead or supervisory experience (lead, senior, or acting supervisor acceptable)
Experience with patient identity workflows (merges, overlays, chart corrections)
Epic proficiency (does not require certification)
Strong attention to detail and understanding of HIM data integrity
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Associate’s degree in Healthcare, IT, Business, or related field
RHIT or RHIA certification (or eligibility)
