About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and manage cost plans and detailed estimates from concept through detailed design across multiple geographies
- Lead estimate reviews with internal and external teams
- Present milestone cost updates and communicate estimate basis, assumptions, inclusions/exclusions, and risks
- Lead quantity takeoffs and cost checks for complex, multi-package CSA scopes
- Provide program-level estimating across multiple projects and campuses
- Review contractor pricing, bids, pay applications, and change orders; prepare recommendations
- Drive benchmarking and cost modeling using historical cost data and metrics
- Support life-cycle cost analyses
- Facilitate value engineering and develop cost/benefit options
- Support procurement and preconstruction activities, including prequalification, bid lists, bid analysis, tender reporting, and contract documentation
- Partner with cost management, procurement, and project controls teams
- Assess design evolutions and produce timely estimate updates
- Mentor and coordinate support staff
- Contribute to training materials, templates, and estimating tools
- Prepare leadership-ready content for client preconstruction and estimating presentations
- Adhere to applicable SOX control responsibilities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a construction-related field
- Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience
- Experience in a construction cost management role such as Cost Manager, Quantity Surveyor, Estimator, Cost Engineer, Project Engineer, or Project Cost Controls
- Experience providing conceptual estimating and/or pre-construction services at a construction management or related firm
- Experience supporting large-scale construction projects and programs
- Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, including value management and value engineering
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be physically based in the United States
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
