About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop and manage cost plans and detailed estimates from concept through detailed design across multiple geographies
Lead estimate reviews with internal and external teams
Present milestone cost updates and communicate estimate basis, assumptions, inclusions/exclusions, and risks
Lead quantity takeoffs and cost checks for complex, multi-package CSA scopes
Provide program-level estimating across multiple projects and campuses
Review contractor pricing, bids, pay applications, and change orders; prepare recommendations
Drive benchmarking and cost modeling using historical cost data and metrics
Support life-cycle cost analyses
Facilitate value engineering and develop cost/benefit options
Support procurement and preconstruction activities, including prequalification, bid lists, bid analysis, tender reporting, and contract documentation
Partner with cost management, procurement, and project controls teams
Assess design evolutions and produce timely estimate updates
Mentor and coordinate support staff
Contribute to training materials, templates, and estimating tools
Prepare leadership-ready content for client preconstruction and estimating presentations
Adhere to applicable SOX control responsibilities

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a construction-related field
Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience
Experience in a construction cost management role such as Cost Manager, Quantity Surveyor, Estimator, Cost Engineer, Project Engineer, or Project Cost Controls
Experience providing conceptual estimating and/or pre-construction services at a construction management or related firm
Experience supporting large-scale construction projects and programs
Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, including value management and value engineering
Excellent communication skills
Must be physically based in the United States
Legally authorized to work in the United States
