About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and manage cost plans and detailed estimates from concept through detailed design across multiple geographies
  • Lead estimate reviews with internal and external teams
  • Present milestone cost updates and communicate estimate basis, assumptions, inclusions/exclusions, and risks
  • Lead quantity takeoffs and cost checks for complex, multi-package CSA scopes
  • Provide program-level estimating across multiple projects and campuses
  • Review contractor pricing, bids, pay applications, and change orders; prepare recommendations
  • Drive benchmarking and cost modeling using historical cost data and metrics
  • Support life-cycle cost analyses
  • Facilitate value engineering and develop cost/benefit options
  • Support procurement and preconstruction activities, including prequalification, bid lists, bid analysis, tender reporting, and contract documentation
  • Partner with cost management, procurement, and project controls teams
  • Assess design evolutions and produce timely estimate updates
  • Mentor and coordinate support staff
  • Contribute to training materials, templates, and estimating tools
  • Prepare leadership-ready content for client preconstruction and estimating presentations
  • Adhere to applicable SOX control responsibilities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a construction-related field
  • Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in a construction cost management role such as Cost Manager, Quantity Surveyor, Estimator, Cost Engineer, Project Engineer, or Project Cost Controls
  • Experience providing conceptual estimating and/or pre-construction services at a construction management or related firm
  • Experience supporting large-scale construction projects and programs
  • Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, including value management and value engineering
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be physically based in the United States
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
