About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and maintain detailed project budgets, including labor, materials, equipment, and services
- Perform comprehensive cost analysis and forecasting to ensure projects stay within budget
- Identify potential financial risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Prepare and present detailed cost reports and progress updates to project managers and stakeholders
- Collaborate with project teams, procurement, and contract management to ensure cost control and planning advice
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements in project design and execution
- Engage and manage third-party quantity surveyors and validate construction cost estimates
- Update and maintain a repository for historical cost data to inform future projects
- Define and track cost performance metrics, leading monthly cost reporting and analysis
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in cost engineering, with a focus on data center construction
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or a related field
- Advanced degree preferred
- Strong analytical skills, proficiency in cost estimation software, excellent communication and presentation abilities, and a solid understanding of financial forecasting and cost accounting principles
- Strong presentation skills and ability to thrive in a client-facing role
- Good organization skills, ability to multi-task, prioritize, and be a team player
