About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Create site layouts, feasibility studies, and early-stage design concepts for new and existing EV operations facilities.
Produce detailed drawings and documentation for facility components including service areas, support spaces, and site infrastructure.
Design and coordinate EV charging layouts, ensuring compliance with accessibility standards and electrical requirements.
Work closely with internal teams (engineering, operations, real estate, facilities) and external partners to align design with operational needs.
Manage permitting processes and ensure designs meet applicable building codes, zoning regulations, and environmental standards.
Contribute to the creation of design standards and playbooks to ensure consistency across projects and streamline future development.
Prepare construction documentation and review shop drawings to ensure design intent is maintained throughout execution.
Support long-term infrastructure planning and real estate strategy through design expertise and technical guidance.
Participate in site selection and evaluation, providing architectural input during due diligence and planning phases.
Conduct design reviews and site visits to ensure construction aligns with approved plans and standards.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or related field
Licensed Architect with 10+ years of experience in architectural design and pre-construction, ideally in transportation, industrial, or technical facilities
Experience designing EV charging infrastructure and coordinating with electrical systems
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other architectural design tools
Strong understanding of building codes (ADA, NEC) and permitting processes
Excellent project management and organizational skills
Strong communication and collaboration abilities across diverse teams
Creative problem-solving and strategic thinking
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and adapt to shifting priorities
Experience developing design standards or playbooks for repeatable infrastructure projects
Familiarity with sustainability principles and energy-efficient design strategies.
