Proposal Writer

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and manage the full proposal lifecycle, from kickoff and planning through submission ensuring compliance, quality, and adherence to deadlines.
- Partner with Directors, subject matter experts (SMEs), and client-facing professionals to gather, shape, and refine technical content.
- Write, edit, and tailor compelling proposal narratives that clearly articulate Turner & Townsend’s value proposition and differentiators.
- Develop visually engaging proposal documents and presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint and other tools.
- Coordinate timelines, track progress, and proactively communicate risks or challenges to stakeholders.
- Compile and maintain reusable content, ensuring consistency in messaging and branding across submissions.
- Support the development of interview presentations, including content structuring and visual storytelling.
- Coach and prepare technical teams for client presentations, including rehearsals, messaging refinement, and delivery techniques.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of proposal processes, tools, and best practices.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5–8 years of experience in proposal writing, bid management, and/or marketing communications.
- Prior experience in a B2B professional services environment required; A/E/C, construction, real estate, or consultancy industry experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling, and client-focused narratives.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- APMP certification or similar proposal management training is a plus.
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent pursuits, prioritize effectively, and meet tight deadlines.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint with a strong eye for layout, design, and visual storytelling.
- Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to understand business context and contribute to win strategies.
- Creative problem-solver capable of simplifying complex ideas into engaging, persuasive content.
- Highly motivated self-starter with strong ownership, integrity, and adaptability.
