About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Oversee the Main House and Guest Homes on the property, as well as manage the surrounding grounds
Provide personal service to the principal owners, their family, and their guests
Supervise Main House staff and manage all projects related to the housing compound
Include event planning and coordination
Ensure the cleanliness and impeccable upkeep of the homes, including performing basic housekeeping and laundry duties
Provide oversight of general repair work, including scheduled maintenance, renovations, and annual improvement projects
Partner with the Senior Household Attendant to oversee kitchen operations and assist with grocery shopping, meal planning, and food preparation as needed
Manage and coordinate guest schedules for onsite and offsite activities, including sporting clays, quail, deer, and turkey hunts, bass fishing, spa appointments, tennis, dining reservations, and other recreational activities
Oversee and assist with the maintenance of grounds, lawns, flower beds, and formal gardens
Maintain records and perform reconciliation of House and Grounds expenses
Oversee planting, fertilization, weed control, harvesting, and canning of an onsite summer and winter vegetable garden
Work with the Property Manager to develop and adhere to the Avalon Plantation budget
Plan, coordinate, and oversee a variety of events, including holiday gatherings, birthday celebrations, cookouts, and other special events

Requirements

What you’ll need

Five or more years of experience in the hospitality industry, guest services, or a related field
Three or more years of experience supervising and leading a team of three or more employees
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Ability to work extended hours as needed, including weekends and holidays
This position requires the operation of vehicles, and you’ll need to possess a valid driver’s license or be able to obtain one within 30 days of employment
Your driving record will need to meet the standards and requirements of the Company and the Company’s insurance provider
You’ll need to present documentation establishing both identity and employment authorization within three days of hire pursuant to federal law.
