About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee the Main House and Guest Homes on the property, as well as manage the surrounding grounds
  • Provide personal service to the principal owners, their family, and their guests
  • Supervise Main House staff and manage all projects related to the housing compound
  • Include event planning and coordination
  • Ensure the cleanliness and impeccable upkeep of the homes, including performing basic housekeeping and laundry duties
  • Provide oversight of general repair work, including scheduled maintenance, renovations, and annual improvement projects
  • Partner with the Senior Household Attendant to oversee kitchen operations and assist with grocery shopping, meal planning, and food preparation as needed
  • Manage and coordinate guest schedules for onsite and offsite activities, including sporting clays, quail, deer, and turkey hunts, bass fishing, spa appointments, tennis, dining reservations, and other recreational activities
  • Oversee and assist with the maintenance of grounds, lawns, flower beds, and formal gardens
  • Maintain records and perform reconciliation of House and Grounds expenses
  • Oversee planting, fertilization, weed control, harvesting, and canning of an onsite summer and winter vegetable garden
  • Work with the Property Manager to develop and adhere to the Avalon Plantation budget
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee a variety of events, including holiday gatherings, birthday celebrations, cookouts, and other special events

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Five or more years of experience in the hospitality industry, guest services, or a related field
  • Three or more years of experience supervising and leading a team of three or more employees
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to work extended hours as needed, including weekends and holidays
  • This position requires the operation of vehicles, and you’ll need to possess a valid driver’s license or be able to obtain one within 30 days of employment
  • Your driving record will need to meet the standards and requirements of the Company and the Company’s insurance provider
  • You’ll need to present documentation establishing both identity and employment authorization within three days of hire pursuant to federal law.
