About the role
- Ensures that agency clients, including victims of interpersonal violence, receive advocacy and support at criminal and civil court hearings.
- Provides clients with information and support regarding the court processes, safety planning.
- Offers legal professionals input regarding domestic assault cases either with the client or on the client’s behalf.
- Assists in writing and filing orders for protection and providing resources and referrals.
- Maintains professional partnerships with judges, attorneys, law enforcement, and other legal/judicial court personnel.
Requirements
- Two + years of direct services in programs related to legal services.
- Undergraduate degree, or relevant work/life experience in a related field.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Own transportation and a valid driver’s license and insurance.
- Must pass MN DHS Fingerprinting Background Study.
- Experience working with victims of interpersonal violence;
- Experience working in a non-profit;
- Experience working on multi-disciplinary teams.
- Multilingual.
