About the role

  • Be the primary owner of the data needs of the Growth Marketing team, including raw-data ingestion, end-user analysis, and light management duties
  • Manage other data engineering resources to achieve team goals
  • Plan and execute on general goals with limited management input
  • Build intuitive, easy-to-use, and high quality datasets using Spark and DBT
  • Build pipelines to assist the Growth Marketing team in tracking Tubi’s marketing spend and attribution
  • Track down data quality issues and set appropriate data quality monitors and alerts
  • Participate in the occasional on-call rotation (12-hr day time shifts, ~1-2/month)
  • Understand product vertical datasets and document and educate the team on tables/fields usage
  • Serve as the liaison between product vertical and core data infrastructure team to meet business needs efficiently
  • Support vertical with data-related automation, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the strategic direction of data engineering across the company
  • Construct efficient pipelines, facilitate data access for data scientists and analysts, and build specialized data products to empower non-engineering teams

Requirements

  • BSc/MSc in Computer Science or related field
  • 10+ years of industry experience, at least 7 of which are in a data engineering (or data-centric software engineering) role
  • Experience in management of a small team
  • Track record of building and operating scalable, flexible, and always-on data pipelines
  • Fluent in data manipulation and SQL
  • Strong knowledge of Spark
  • Strong knowledge of Python (libraries like pandas and polars, helpful)
  • Strong experience with Databricks (SQL Warehouses, Jobs Clusters, and Serverless)
  • Strong familiarity with DBT and Airflow
  • Experience with cloud providers and cloud storage (AWS preferred)
  • Experience with efficiently working with datasets at TB scale
  • Experience with attribution pipelines such as Adjust and Kochava a plus
  • Service and data quality oriented
  • A passion for shipping production quality code with good test coverage
  • Ability to participate in on-call rotation (12-hr day time shifts, ~1-2/month)
