About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Apply knowledge of CMS programs, data, and technology platforms to develop and deliver code and data products in support of CMS Medicaid projects.
Develop technical solutions for complex problems through ingenuity and innovation.
Work collaboratively across a cross-functional team.
Deploy processes for quality assurance of code and requirements in analytics delivery including defect tracking and specification traceability following agile project management principles for technical work.
Provide support across the data lifecycle including data acquisition, analysis, visualization, and automation.
Support data modernization efforts and develop/improve automated data workflows.
Develop and maintain code in Python, SQL, and PySpark using version control (Git) software.
Eventually lead tasks, including organizing work plans and delegating work, with minimal supervision.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor degree + 5 years’ experience, Master degree + 3 years’ experience, PhD + 0 years experience
Experience in SQL and/or Python is required, and experience with PySpark is strongly preferred.
Ability to use it in collaborative workflows is strongly preferred.
Experience working with analytic platforms and BI tools such as Databricks, Snowflake, Amazon QuickSight, Tableau, and PowerBI.
Experience with Databricks is strongly preferred.
Ability to use git in collaborative workflows is strongly preferred.
Experience with cloud computing services (e.g. AWS, Azure) is preferred.
Experience with CMS Medicaid data is strongly preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
Strong writing, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills are required.
Ability to manage competing project demands while maintaining high attention to detail and organization is required.
Active credentials to work on CMS’s systems or experience obtaining federal credentials is strongly preferred.
CMS experience, or other government or public sector experience strongly preferred.
US work authorization and ability to gain CMS clearance including passing a background check is required.
