About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate and manage value-added, independent, objective, risk-based internal audit assurance services for the Audit Committee and Executive Management
  • Develop a comprehensive, dynamic audit plan through relationships with senior management and ongoing business monitoring
  • Direct a team of audit professionals in implementing and completing the audit plan
  • Maintain responsibility for the overall quality of audit work
  • Establish and manage an audit assurance program for assigned business units
  • Supervise and coordinate audit activities to ensure high-quality and timely completion
  • Manage audit professionals and coordinate successful completion of the audit plan
  • Establish and monitor performance measures and metrics
  • Coach and develop staff
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with senior management
  • Supervise and participate in audit planning, scoping, and execution
  • Analyze systems, processes, and controls to assess internal-control design and operating effectiveness
  • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and corporate policies
  • Identify and evaluate risks in business-unit coverage areas
  • Review and approve audit reports
  • Develop and monitor risk assessments
  • Lead aggregation, correlation, and analysis of business-monitoring activities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or business-related field, or equivalent education and related training or experience
  • Ten years of progressive audit, risk, or examiner experience, with a significant portion in the financial services industry
  • Preferably experience with a large financial services firm
  • Comprehensive knowledge of banking, risk management, and audit practices
  • Ability to understand broader risk
  • Excellent leadership abilities, decision-making, and critical-thinking skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior management and other stakeholders
  • Appropriate professional certification, such as Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Information Systems Auditor, or Certified Public Accountant
  • Master’s degree in a business-related field preferred
  • Completion of a graduate school of banking preferred
  • English language fluency required
  • Must be able to work first shift in the United States of America
