About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage and prepare financial and estate plans for High Net Worth clients, typically with $5MM+ in assets under management at Truist
- Leverage internal and external resources and centers of influence with Wealth Advisors to provide subject matter expertise
- Review financial and estate planning documents, client objectives, and priorities
- Deliver comprehensive analysis and solution presentations
- Lead wealth planning and strategy and help clients act toward financial goals
- Identify financial planning and implementation opportunities and communicate them to clients and Truist teammates
- Execute the financial planning and advice process from goal identification and data gathering through analysis, recommendations, implementation partnership, and progress monitoring
- Execute planning engagements in compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and legal guidelines
- Identify at-risk situations and inform appropriate team members and management
- Maintain proficiency in planning software and company systems
- Integrate the Truist Wealth advice and planning process into relevant models
- Participate in Advice and Planning Group and regional Wealth meetings and conference calls
- Coach and develop teammates across Truist Wealth
- Prioritize workflow, manage time, meet deadlines, and allocate resources
- Build relationships with internal partners and external COIs, including attorneys, accountants, and other advisors
- Represent Truist in civic, community, government, banking, and professional groups
- Serve as a subject matter expert and thought leader in complex financial planning concepts
- Maintain and pursue relevant professional credentials and suggest process improvements
- Work primarily in the assigned region, with possible virtual or out-of-region work based on client complexity
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree
- Professional work experience with demonstrated competency in financial industry
- Advanced technical knowledge of financial planning, including income tax, investments, debt management, retirement planning, employee benefits, stock options, insurance, estate planning, and business planning
- Proven ability to get clients to take action
- At least one of: JD, LLM in Taxation, MS in Taxation, MSFS, ChFC, CFP, CPA, or comparable advanced knowledge course of study
- Advanced communication and relationship skills
- Strong computer software and related technical skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Advanced written, verbal, problem solving, and analytical skills
- Proven experience with group facilitation, presentations, and public speaking
- Preferred: seven years of experience in financial planning, wealth management, or affiliated industries
- Preferred: experience advising HNW clients
- Preferred: ability to lead and manage projects relevant to the Advice and Planning Group
