About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design data architecture standards and solutions across data engineering, data platforms, AI/ML platforms, generative AI processes, self-service tools, and data transformation tools
  • Partner with technology and business teams to develop solutions for specific business processes and needs
  • Oversee data architecture for a specific business unit or corporate function while collaborating with Enterprise Architecture
  • Align data projects with data strategy, data architecture, and enterprise architecture standards
  • Define conceptual, logical, and physical data models
  • Institute data architecture methodology and oversee centralized management of data models
  • Architect solutions for audit issues, controls issues, MRAs, MRIAs, MRBAs, and self-identified issues
  • Manage application inventory and map applications to data architecture methodology
  • Provide data architecture review and approval through the Architecture Review Board and AI model governance and ethical practices committee
  • Translate business unit requirements into technical implementations and schemas
  • Design proof-of-concept system prototypes
  • Monitor emerging industry practices and technologies and bring new practices to Truist

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Undergraduate degree in computer science, analytics, data engineering, finance, or equivalent degree
  • At least 10 years of experience driving enterprise architecture, solution architecture, data architecture, data strategy, data execution, data engineering, or software delivery
  • Experience defining, building, and executing an enterprise data management and governance program
  • Expert problem-solving skills and ability to define detailed strategies
  • Expertise in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, and data architecture
  • Expertise in solution designs based on business requirements
  • Experience meeting regulatory obligations and operating in a highly regulated environment
  • Experience building a high-performing team
  • Preferred: Experience leading AI readiness, data governance, data quality, lineage, and metadata management initiatives
  • Preferred: Ability to embed governance, controls, and risk management into business processes and data product lifecycles
  • Preferred: Experience partnering across Business, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Audit, and Data & Analytics organizations
  • Preferred: Knowledge of AI/ML, Generative AI, Responsible AI, and model governance practices in regulated environments
  • Preferred: Experience implementing data product operating models, business ownership frameworks, and stewardship programs
  • Preferred: Executive communication, influence, and organizational change leadership skills
  • English language fluency required
