About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Engage with Business Unit leadership in its management of risks and controls
- Execute, facilitate and/or monitor execution of Risk Program requirements
- Provide risk advice and influence to assigned Business Unit
- Aggregate, integrate, correlate and report risks
- Support the assessment and documentation of the process, risk, and control environment
- Identify and opine on remediation for weaknesses
- Assess, test and effectively challenge the assigned Business Unit
- Monitor & report on emerging risks
- Oversee risk appetite and business risk strategy
- Provide risk management expertise in strategic projects
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field
- 6+ years of experience in a financial institution with emphasis on risk management
- Experience in compliance and operational risk mitigation and remediation
- Strong communication, interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skills
- Proven leadership and management skills
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office software products
- Ability to travel occasionally overnight
