About the role

  • Analyze, design, code, test, debug, and document moderately complex application solutions that meet Capital Markets Securities business requirements
  • Focus on applications and business domain expertise specific to the Capital Markets technology platform
  • Customize coding, software integration, analysis and configuration for Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives, FX, Loan Trading and Syndication, Investment Banking, Credit, Risk
  • Plan for and conduct robust unit testing associated to user stories; achieve automated unit testing leveraging DevSecOps practices
  • Provide SME support for assigned user stories during regression testing and production support
  • Act as a domain SME/software engineer within feature teams; decompose features into user stories and deliver working software eligible for release
  • Automate manual/reusable tasks and collaborate with Product Managers/Owners from design through release
  • Support integration and functional testing and provide knowledge transfer to L1/L2 production support
  • Develop code in accordance with acceptance criteria established by Product Owner

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • English (Required)
  • Knowledge in information systems and ability to apply that knowledge in practice
  • Ability to manage competing priorities
  • Ability to solve problems in straightforward situations by analyzing possible solutions using experience, judgment and precedents
  • Experience participating in Capital Markets initiatives with a focus on IT Delivery
  • Demonstrable experience working in an Agile delivery methodology
  • Capital Markets domain expertise (Equities, Fixed Income, Foreign Exchange, Derivatives, Collateral management, Sales/Trading/Research, Settlements, Financial Management/Product Accounting, Risk, Credit)
  • Experience with integration tools such as MuleSoft, TIBCO or similar
  • Experience with automated unit testing and DevSecOps practices
  • Experience providing SME support and knowledge transfer to L1/L2 production support
  • Ability to communicate complex information in straightforward situations
  • Availability to work scheduled hours including overtime and minimal travel up to 10%
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience
  • Preferred: Banking or financial services experience
  • Preferred: SaFE Agile certification or commensurate designation
  • Preferred: CFA designation or other business domain specific certification
  • Preferred: Data Analysis/Mining (R, Python)
  • Preferred: Business Intelligence (Qlikview, Tableau, MSPowerBI)
  • Preferred: Distributed technologies (J2EE, .Net, Middleware, MuleSoft/TIBCO, WebServices, javascript)
  • Preferred: Database platforms (SQL Server, Oracle, SnowFlake, PostgreSQL, Hadoop)
  • Preferred: Experience with automated development and operations (DevSecOps) and public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google, Oracle)
  • Preferred: Knowledge of Capital Markets Regulatory Environment (SEC, FINRA, CFTC, NFA, FED)
  • Preferred: Experience with automation test tools, low-latency real-time applications, microservices, React or similar web UI frameworks, REST services, event/message frameworks (Apache Kafka), caching frameworks
