Key responsibilities & impact

Plan, coordinate, and schedule RHEL patching activities across enterprise systems.
Create and manage change records using ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms.
Validate patching and vulnerability remediation results using system data and reports.
Analyze host-level system information to help identify factors impacting patch or remediation outcomes.
Work with infrastructure, application, and security teams to support remediation efforts.
Maintain accurate documentation to support audits, reporting, and compliance requirements.

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree and five years of experience in development or application support or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
In-depth knowledge in information systems and ability to identify, apply, and implement best practices.
Understanding of key business processes and competitive strategies related to the IT function.
Ability to plan and manage projects.
Ability to solve complex problems by applying best practices.
Ability to provide direction and mentor less experienced teammates.
Ability to interpret and convey complex, difficult, or sensitive information.
Working knowledge of Linux, including command-line usage and system navigation.
Understanding of patching, vulnerability remediation, and system maintenance concepts.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Experience in banking, financial services, or other regulated environments.
Hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
Experience coordinating work through ServiceNow (change, incident, problem management).
Experience with RHEL patching and maintenance in enterprise environments.
Experience using Red Hat Satellite for lifecycle or patch management.
Familiarity with vulnerability management workflows, including Qualys and ServiceNow Vulnerability Response (VR).
Basic scripting experience (Bash or Python) for operational or troubleshooting tasks.
Exposure to automation tools such as Ansible (not required).
RHCSA or RHCE certification.
