About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plan, coordinate, and schedule RHEL patching activities across enterprise systems.
  • Create and manage change records using ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms.
  • Validate patching and vulnerability remediation results using system data and reports.
  • Analyze host-level system information to help identify factors impacting patch or remediation outcomes.
  • Work with infrastructure, application, and security teams to support remediation efforts.
  • Maintain accurate documentation to support audits, reporting, and compliance requirements.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree and five years of experience in development or application support or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • In-depth knowledge in information systems and ability to identify, apply, and implement best practices.
  • Understanding of key business processes and competitive strategies related to the IT function.
  • Ability to plan and manage projects.
  • Ability to solve complex problems by applying best practices.
  • Ability to provide direction and mentor less experienced teammates.
  • Ability to interpret and convey complex, difficult, or sensitive information.
  • Working knowledge of Linux, including command-line usage and system navigation.
  • Understanding of patching, vulnerability remediation, and system maintenance concepts.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in banking, financial services, or other regulated environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
  • Experience coordinating work through ServiceNow (change, incident, problem management).
  • Experience with RHEL patching and maintenance in enterprise environments.
  • Experience using Red Hat Satellite for lifecycle or patch management.
  • Familiarity with vulnerability management workflows, including Qualys and ServiceNow Vulnerability Response (VR).
  • Basic scripting experience (Bash or Python) for operational or troubleshooting tasks.
  • Exposure to automation tools such as Ansible (not required).
  • RHCSA or RHCE certification.
