Key responsibilities & impact

Provide leadership and strategic direction for multiple teams to ensure timely and accurate execution of reports, analyses, data, system-related or operational tasks.
Ensure that key departmental processes are documented and that appropriate controls are in place.
Develop consultative relationships with senior and executive leaders within the Risk Management Organization and other areas of Truist.
Plan and manage complex projects, such as development of new or modified reporting in response to process, system, regulatory, or organizational changes.
Recruit, train, develop and retain top quality talent.
Develop short- and long-term plans by translating business strategies and emerging external trends to organizational and operational tactics and priorities.
Identify and resolve technical, operational, risk management, business, and organizational challenges.
Provide direction and guidance for large projects and initiatives, typically with significant implications for a business unit or function.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree or equivalent
15+ years in positions that carry increasing levels of responsibility in banking or financial institutions and/or risk management experience
Broad and in-depth knowledge within own professional discipline and other related disciplines
Sound and comprehensive understanding of business and organizational strategies and processes
Knowledge of the external environment, including Truist's competition, regulatory requirements and trends
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to influence and negotiate with other senior leaders and executives
Ability to develop relationships and interact at all levels within the organization
Ability to exercise judgment and sophisticated skills in solving unique and highly complex technical, operational, and organizational challenges
Ability to lead and manage performance of a team or multiple teams against a set of financial and operational objectives
