About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for multiple teams to ensure timely and accurate execution of reports, analyses, data, system-related or operational tasks.
  • Ensure that key departmental processes are documented and that appropriate controls are in place.
  • Develop consultative relationships with senior and executive leaders within the Risk Management Organization and other areas of Truist.
  • Plan and manage complex projects, such as development of new or modified reporting in response to process, system, regulatory, or organizational changes.
  • Recruit, train, develop and retain top quality talent.
  • Develop short- and long-term plans by translating business strategies and emerging external trends to organizational and operational tactics and priorities.
  • Identify and resolve technical, operational, risk management, business, and organizational challenges.
  • Provide direction and guidance for large projects and initiatives, typically with significant implications for a business unit or function.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 15+ years in positions that carry increasing levels of responsibility in banking or financial institutions and/or risk management experience
  • Broad and in-depth knowledge within own professional discipline and other related disciplines
  • Sound and comprehensive understanding of business and organizational strategies and processes
  • Knowledge of the external environment, including Truist's competition, regulatory requirements and trends
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to influence and negotiate with other senior leaders and executives
  • Ability to develop relationships and interact at all levels within the organization
  • Ability to exercise judgment and sophisticated skills in solving unique and highly complex technical, operational, and organizational challenges
  • Ability to lead and manage performance of a team or multiple teams against a set of financial and operational objectives
