About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide leadership and strategic direction for multiple teams to ensure timely and accurate execution of reports, analyses, data, system-related or operational tasks.
- Ensure that key departmental processes are documented and that appropriate controls are in place.
- Develop consultative relationships with senior and executive leaders within the Risk Management Organization and other areas of Truist.
- Plan and manage complex projects, such as development of new or modified reporting in response to process, system, regulatory, or organizational changes.
- Recruit, train, develop and retain top quality talent.
- Develop short- and long-term plans by translating business strategies and emerging external trends to organizational and operational tactics and priorities.
- Identify and resolve technical, operational, risk management, business, and organizational challenges.
- Provide direction and guidance for large projects and initiatives, typically with significant implications for a business unit or function.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 15+ years in positions that carry increasing levels of responsibility in banking or financial institutions and/or risk management experience
- Broad and in-depth knowledge within own professional discipline and other related disciplines
- Sound and comprehensive understanding of business and organizational strategies and processes
- Knowledge of the external environment, including Truist's competition, regulatory requirements and trends
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to influence and negotiate with other senior leaders and executives
- Ability to develop relationships and interact at all levels within the organization
- Ability to exercise judgment and sophisticated skills in solving unique and highly complex technical, operational, and organizational challenges
- Ability to lead and manage performance of a team or multiple teams against a set of financial and operational objectives
