About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support Data Governance across the enterprise
- Enable business growth while ensuring compliance with risk and regulatory expectations
- Partner with various business and technology stakeholders to influence and drive adoption of Enterprise Data Management strategies, policies, standards and control frameworks
- Evaluate established and emerging data practices and technologies to drive the team's direction
- Implement innovative processes and solutions to provide competitive advantage while meeting rigorous control and oversight mandates
- Develop and maintain standards, procedures, and technology in support of enterprise Data Governance
- Create and implement processes and procedures to support data standards and control frameworks
- Provide subject matter expertise in data management activities such as data sharing, metadata management, data quality, data privacy or retention and disposition requirements
- Drive solution design and execution of multi-pronged data governance efforts across platforms and business/technology areas to address enterprise data needs
- Implement strategic data governance capabilities by working with business and technology partners to document requirements and create action plans
- Perform oversight and inspection of critical data management practices for adherence to data policies and control frameworks
- Identify data issues and work with technology, risk and business partners to triage, track, communicate, mitigate and remediate the issues to closure
- Support the production of metrics and measures to track progress and adherence, escalating as needed to various committees for visibility and program accountability
- Understand and integrate relevant regulations and industry trends into work plans
- Collaborate closely with peer teams to ensure coordination, synergy and seamless overall execution
- Champion and drive improvement in enterprise data management practices throughout the organization.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in related field
- Ten years of experience in roles with increasing responsibilities in technology, data management, governance, risk or related practice or equivalent education and related training or experience
- Implementation of Data Control Frameworks in federated operating models
- History of effective performance within shared service, matrix or federated environments
- Internal or external consulting experience
- Experience with formalized organizational assessment practices (e.g. Capability Maturity Model), including implementation of recommended improvements
- Experience with effective control creation based off risks identified from risk assessments and policy adherence.
