About the role

  • Be the primary point of contact, lead technical execution, and help scale the team.
  • Lead and manage a small engineering squad (2 Full-Stack Engineers).
  • Actively write production-quality code alongside the team.
  • Own backend (Ruby) and frontend (React + TypeScript) development.
  • Collaborate with the Product team to refine requirements and tickets.
  • Drive the adoption of automation and ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Act as the primary interface with Bend Health leadership.
  • Manage and mentor two senior engineers.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Strong background in Ruby (backend).
  • Proficiency in React + TypeScript (frontend).
  • Experience with AWS, Postgres, Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with end-to-end automation (Playwright preferred).
  • Proven experience managing and mentoring engineers.
  • Startup mindset: proactive, low ego, collaborative, business-aware.
  • Comfortable wearing multiple hats and thinking beyond tickets.
