About the role

  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Lead the design and management of the cloud environment using Pulumi, ensuring reproducible, version-controlled infrastructure.
  • CI/CD Leadership: Architect and maintain robust deployment pipelines with GitHub Actions, optimizing the development-to-production flow for Python/Django and React applications.
  • Security & Compliance: Collaborate with engineering and leadership teams to maintain a strong security posture, using Vanta to automate compliance and ensure the EHR system meets the highest data protection standards.
  • AWS Cloud Excellence: Optimize and scale the AWS ecosystem (ECS, RDS, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB) to support high-performance distributed applications.
  • Operational Reliability: Implement advanced monitoring, logging, and alerting systems in production to ensure 24/7 availability of critical services.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with software engineers to define requirements and implement best practices within an Agile environment.

Requirements

  • Professional Experience: 8+ years of experience in DevOps Engineering or Application Engineering with integrated Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • AWS Expertise: Advanced, in-depth knowledge of AWS, with extensive experience deploying and managing scalable, cloud-native architectures.
  • IaC Proficiency: Proven track record using Pulumi (or similar tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation) to manage complex infrastructure.
  • Automation Mindset: Strong experience building CI/CD workflows in GitHub and automating manual processes.
  • Containerization & Orchestration: Hands-on experience with Docker, ECS, and Kubernetes for managing microservices.
  • Observability: Advanced knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as New Relic.
  • Leadership & Communication: Demonstrated ability to lead infrastructure initiatives and clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
