About the role
- Design, build, and maintain custom AWS-native data pipelines using AWS Lambda, AWS Glue, S3, DynamoDB, and EventBridge.
- Develop and support ETL processes that deliver structured and unstructured data to downstream systems, including Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
- Lead the technical design and availability of AWS services, ensuring solutions are scalable, reliable, and fully supported by AWS-native features.
- Implement logging, monitoring, and error handling to ensure operational visibility and production stability.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable Python code following best practices and internal standards.
- Collaborate with other AWS developers on architecture decisions, implementation, and delivery.
- Participate in code reviews, providing technical guidance and ensuring high-quality engineering standards.
- Assist in deployment planning and support production releases.
- Proactively improve existing systems, pipelines, and processes.
- Serve as a senior technical contributor and subject matter expert within the AWS development team.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on AWS development experience in production environments.
- Strong experience building custom ETL and data integration pipelines.
- Deep familiarity with AWS services including Lambda, Glue, S3, DynamoDB, and EventBridge.
- Proficient in Python for backend and data processing workloads.
- Experience designing systems with a focus on availability, reliability, logging, and operational support.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical design and make architecture decisions in AWS.
- Experience integrating AWS services with external systems via APIs or event-driven architectures.
- Prior experience integrating AWS-based pipelines with Salesforce Marketing Cloud or similar marketing platforms (deep Salesforce feature knowledge is not required).
- Strong understanding of AWS-native services and how they are supported and operated in production.
- Comfortable working in an environment where immediate ownership and productivity are expected.
