About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the lead point of contact and trusted advisor for a portfolio of complex, often multi-location or multi-line commercial accounts
  • Develop tailored service plans and risk management strategies aligned with each client’s industry, risk tolerance, and business objectives
  • Lead client meetings, renewal strategy sessions, and coverage consultations
  • Collaborate with producers and practice leaders on unified service and growth strategies
  • Manage the renewal process from strategy through execution, including marketing, proposal development, and policy negotiations
  • Analyze the assigned book of business to ensure revenue growth and account profitability
  • Identify cross-sell opportunities and coverage gaps and coordinate complementary insurance offerings
  • Monitor carrier performance, pricing trends, and market conditions to inform placement decisions and negotiate optimal terms
  • Maintain accurate and timely updates in AMS360 and related systems
  • Identify underperforming accounts and create action plans to improve margins or address servicing issues
  • Provide technical support and guidance to Client Managers and junior team members
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in internal planning sessions, special projects, and escalated client service issues
  • Maintain knowledge of industry regulations, carrier appetites, and best practices in P&C and Life & Health lines
  • Ensure service delivery aligns with agency standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 7+ years of experience in insurance account management focused on complex commercial accounts
  • Deep understanding of Property & Casualty and Life & Health insurance products, markets, and strategies
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with executive-level clients and carrier partners
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical skills, and business acumen
  • Ability to manage book profitability
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Proficient in AMS360 or comparable agency management systems
  • Active insurance licenses in applicable lines (P&C and/or L&H) required
  • Advanced industry certifications such as CIC, CRM, or CPCU strongly preferred
