About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Create and improve manufacturing procedures and estimates using Lean practices.
  • Specify detailed planning of individual products and processes.
  • Support manufacturing to correct, improve or initiate processes/tooling in a timely manner.
  • Develop and recommend courses of action in manufacturing.
  • Prepare and review forms and procedures to promote operational efficiency.
  • Develop design and install methods, material handling and workstation equipment.
  • Prepare part programs and related information for CNC areas.
  • MRB support in rework instructions and corrective action to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Create engineering change actions.
  • Work with operators to solve problems and make improvements.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field plus 2 years of relatable experience.
  • Associates degree in an engineering field with 5 years of related experience.
  • 5 years of Aerospace, Automotive, or equivalent Manufacturing Engineering experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of precision measuring tools, gauges, and other inspection devices.
  • Strong experience with CAD and CAM Software (SolidWorks, CATIAv5 and Mastercam). Must be able to create machine programs in G-Code.
  • Knowledge of aerospace industry specifications.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and waste reduction concepts.
  • General knowledge of metallurgical properties including heat treating various types of metals.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications for recording and communicating efforts and statuses.
  • Team based problem solving.
