Engineer, Environmental Health & Safety 3
TRIUMPHEnvironmental Health and Safety Engineer ensuring regulatory compliance for a manufacturing facility. Building a proactive safety culture and leading training programs for 500+ employees.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build a proactive safety culture.
- Develop, implement, maintain, and monitor EHS policies, programs, procedures, reports, and training to comply with regulations.
- Ensure facility meets all federal, state, and local laws (OSHA, EPA, DOT, DEEP).
- Manage environmental permitting requirements (Air Quality, Storm Water, Spill Prevention).
- Execute internal compliance auditing and interpret regulations.
- Ensure all sampling and monitoring data is submitted to regulatory agencies as required.
- Partner with the EHS team to prevent hazards.
- Provide expert advice on Personal Protective Equipment and health-related issues.
- Investigate and evaluate new materials for safety risks.
- Coordinate field safety measurements and make data-driven recommendations.
- Manage hazardous, universal, and regulated waste programs.
- Lead investigations of EHS incidents and develop corrective actions.
- Support Site Emergency Plan, including drills and evacuation activities.
- Support development of facility-wide EHS strategic plans and execute them.
- Lead all Health, Safety, and Environmental training for the site.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor of Science degree in Safety, Health and Environmental studies or related disciplines.
- A thorough knowledge of OSHA and EPA guidelines.
- Five to Ten years working in a manufacturing environment in an Environmental, Health, and Safety capacity.
- ES&H-related Certifications a plus: Registered Environmental Manager (REM), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM).
- Exposure to quality systems, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, experience working in aerospace manufacturing, familiarity with AS9100, NADCAP, continuous improvement process disciplines a plus.
