About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage and direct activity of claims unit ensuring high-quality results and compliance with state laws
- Supervise examiners and clerical staff
- Address scheduled claims issues, such as reviews, delays, and denials
- Approve reserve changes, awards, and payments within authority
- Monitor compliance with policies and laws through file reviews
- Coordinate and lead training sessions on updated laws and procedures
- Ensure caseload staffing requirements are met
- Respond to claimant and vendor concerns
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED required
- 3 to 5 years related experience
- Technical knowledge of statutory regulations and medical terminology
- Ability to work on a diary system, prioritize tasks and meet strict deadlines
- Strong analytical skills
- Proficient in Word and Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage employees of various skill levels
- Knowledge of Arbitration Forum and American Arbitration Association
- Certifications and/or licenses as required by State regulation including a valid New York adjuster license
