About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including GL, AP/AR, payroll, WIP, and fixed assets
Own month-end close and internal financial reporting, including account reconciliations, while ensuring GAAP compliance
Oversee project-based revenue recognition and alignment with ASC 606
Oversee the annual FAR overhead rate audit and rate submission with state DOTs
Oversee the annual financial audit
Assist with the annual budget and rolling forecast, including the 13-week cash flow forecast
Support acquisition integration and financial system alignment
Support cash flow management and performance tracking
Improve internal controls and drive automation initiatives
Manage and develop a small accounting team
Work cross-functionally on projects and initiatives
Complete ad-hoc assignments and other directed duties

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
10–15 years of accounting experience, including at least 3–5 years as a Controller
CPA and MBA preferred
Ability to meet tight deadlines
AEC industry background strongly preferred
Vantagepoint software experience required
Workday Adaptive Planning OfficeConnect experience preferred
Strong knowledge of project accounting, WIP, ASC 606, and ASC 842
Overhead Rate Audit and FAR Part 31 experience
M&A integration and high-growth environment experience
Excellent leadership and communication skills
