About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage field inspection teams for highway, bridge, and infrastructure projects
  • Enforce contractor compliance with plans, specifications, and contract documents
  • Oversee project safety, work zone safety, traffic control, MPT compliance, environmental requirements, and OSHA regulations
  • Assign daily duties to on-site construction inspection staff and monitor field performance
  • Review and verify construction quantities
  • Monitor contractor payrolls
  • Maintain daily inspection reports, RFI logs, and submittal logs
  • Review and forward forms related to DBE workforce and training goals
  • Manage change orders, evaluate claims, and process monthly payment estimates
  • Coordinate with agencies, design teams, contractors, utility companies, and the public
  • Convey complex technical information effectively to clients and team members

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • NICET Level IV certification or 10+ years of experience in heavy highway construction management
  • Familiarity with NJDOT or NJTA design standards
  • Familiarity with construction management systems such as Site Manager or Cap Ex
  • Familiarity with internal Contract Compliance procedures
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to convey complex technical information effectively to clients and team members
