About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist licensed engineers with the **design and preparation of municipal infrastructure projects**, including water/wastewater, roadway, and community facility improvements
  • Prepare and review **engineering calculations, technical designs, and construction documents**
  • Develop **feasibility studies, due diligence reports, zoning studies, and front-end planning documents**
  • Perform **stormwater modeling and hydraulic/hydrologic analyses**; prepare technical reports
  • Prepare **cost estimates and detailed design plans** for municipal and development projects
  • Coordinate with internal MSG teams including **Survey, Geotechnical, Structural, Traffic, Transportation, and Construction Services**
  • Engage with **local municipalities and reviewing agencies** to address comments and guide projects through approval
  • Assist public agencies with **review of development plans**
  • Support project development from **concept through final design and construction documentation**
  • Communicate with clients and stakeholders to ensure project goals are met

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in **Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field**
  • **EIT (EI) certification in Ohio required**; PE preferred
  • **2+ years of relevant municipal or site development experience**
  • Practical experience in **design and plan preparation for site development and municipal projects**
  • Working knowledge of **industry design standards, guidelines, and specifications**
  • Proficiency in **AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation** (grading experience required)
  • Experience preparing **Hydraulic/Hydrologic reports** strongly preferred
  • Roadway design and survey experience is a plus
  • Strong **technical writing and documentation skills**
  • Comfortable communicating with **clients, reviewing agencies, and internal project teams**
