About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist licensed engineers with the design and preparation of municipal infrastructure projects, including water/wastewater, roadway, and community facility improvements
- Prepare and review engineering calculations, technical designs, and construction documents
- Develop feasibility studies, due diligence reports, zoning studies, and front-end planning documents
- Perform stormwater modeling and hydraulic/hydrologic analyses; prepare technical reports
- Prepare cost estimates and detailed design plans for municipal and development projects
- Coordinate with internal MSG teams including Survey, Geotechnical, Structural, Traffic, Transportation, and Construction Services
- Engage with local municipalities and reviewing agencies to address comments and guide projects through approval
- Assist public agencies with review of development plans
- Support project development from concept through final design and construction documentation
- Communicate with clients and stakeholders to ensure project goals are met
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
- EIT (EI) certification in Ohio required; PE preferred
- 2+ years of relevant municipal or site development experience
- Practical experience in design and plan preparation for site development and municipal projects
- Working knowledge of industry design standards, guidelines, and specifications
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation (grading experience required)
- Experience preparing Hydraulic/Hydrologic reports strongly preferred
- Roadway design and survey experience is a plus
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills
- Comfortable communicating with clients, reviewing agencies, and internal project teams.
