About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and grow a multidisciplinary structural engineering team across major infrastructure markets
- Provide strategic direction, resource planning, and operational leadership for the structures group
- Foster a culture of inclusion, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Oversee the delivery of complex structural design projects including bridges, transit systems, tunnels, and major public infrastructure
- Ensure alignment with scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations
- Serve as a senior technical leader and trusted advisor on key pursuits and projects
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with public agencies and key clients
- Support major pursuits, proposals, and interviews, contributing to win strategies
- Represent the firm as a technical leader in the marketplace
- Drive innovation in structural design, materials, and delivery methods
- Ensure adherence to QA/QC processes and regulatory requirements
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (AASHTO, ACI, AISC, local agency requirements)
- Stay current with industry trends, codes, and emerging technologies
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required; Structural Engineer (SE) license strongly preferred
- 15+ years of structural engineering experience, including leadership of teams and complex projects
- Extensive experience with NJDOT, NJTA, and/or other major transportation agencies
- Demonstrated success delivering large-scale infrastructure or transportation projects
- Strong knowledge of structural design standards and regulatory requirements
- Proven ability in client management, project delivery, and business development
- Experience working with public agencies and alternative delivery methods (DB, CM/GC, P3) is a plus
