About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Review site plans, subdivision and land development applications, and capital improvement projects for compliance with municipal ordinances, standards, and regulations
- Support planning board and zoning board reviews by preparing technical comments and reports
- Communicate clearly and professionally with boards, applicants, inspectors, and internal team members
- Assist with design work on municipal infrastructure projects such as roadway improvements, including preparation of plans and specifications
- Perform basic engineering calculations and analysis under the guidance of senior engineers
- Support construction-phase activities, including coordination with inspectors and review of field conditions
- Gain exposure to how projects are implemented and resolved in real-world conditions
- Work closely with experienced engineers (including recently licensed PEs) who provide day-to-day guidance and mentorship
- Participate in Artheon’s peer mentor program and professional development initiatives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification, or scheduled to take the EIT exam
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including comfort participating in public meetings
- Interest in and commitment to municipal engineering work
- Willingness to work from and commit to the Neptune/Tinton Falls, NJ office
- Internship or co-op experience in civil or municipal engineering (preferred)
- Familiarity with municipal infrastructure, transportation, or water/wastewater projects (preferred)
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar engineering software (preferred)
