Key responsibilities & impact

Design and lead the architecture of a next-generation conversational AI platform that replaces traditional search with intelligent dialogue
Own systems that understand user intent, determine required information, retrieve data from multiple real-time providers, reason across competing options, and generate conversational responses leading from discovery to transaction
Architect the AI orchestration layer coordinating multiple LLMs, specialized agents, retrieval systems, recommendation engines, and external APIs
Assemble and rank information from ticketing providers, hotels, airlines, restaurants, transportation, maps, weather, and other third-party sources
Design systems for multi-step task planning, conversational context, tool execution, result ranking, and adaptive recommendations
Define technical vision and architectural standards
Evaluate emerging AI technologies
Mentor senior engineers, architects, and principal engineers
Make long-term decisions regarding LLM strategy, retrieval architecture, agent design, memory management, semantic search, vector databases, knowledge graphs, and AI evaluation frameworks
Collaborate with Principal Architects across backend infrastructure, payments, blockchain, messaging, mini-programs, and platform services
Ensure integration across the ecosystem while maintaining scalability, reliability, performance, and user experience

Requirements

What you’ll need

Proven experience architecting and delivering production-scale AI platforms used by large numbers of users
Demonstrated leadership as a Principal Engineer, Chief Architect, Distinguished Engineer, or equivalent senior technical role
Deep expertise in LLMs, AI agents, multi-agent systems, RAG, semantic search, and modern AI orchestration frameworks
Strong understanding of recommendation engines, ranking algorithms, personalization, and conversational AI
Extensive experience designing distributed, cloud-native systems operating globally with high availability and low latency
Hands-on experience integrating complex third-party APIs and combining multiple real-time data sources
Exceptional architectural judgment and ability to simplify complex technical problems into scalable, maintainable solutions
Ability to lead senior engineering teams, mentor architects and principal engineers, establish engineering standards, and make long-term technical decisions
Strong communication skills across engineering, product, and executive leadership
Entrepreneurial mindset and passion for category-defining products
Track record of shipping ambitious, innovative products
Creative problem-solving and willingness to propose and support new ideas
Ability to adapt across a broad range of problems and technologies
Comfort with ambiguity, shifting priorities, and early-stage company growing pains
Entrepreneurial judgment fostering independence over micromanagement
Understanding of football and international sports is a huge plus
Experience with OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, open-source language models, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, DSPy, vector databases, graph databases, and modern AI infrastructure is highly desirable
