About the role
- Design and deliver integrated media and communications strategies to support our priority brand and influencing objectives, such as a campaign to prevent fossil fuel interests from blocking ambitious climate action.
- Work as part of the press team to manage requests, identify reactive opportunities, brief spokespeople, and contribute to daily and monthly coverage summaries.
- Use framing techniques and insights to develop powerful messaging to support our campaigns.
- Collaborate with digital colleagues to produce online copy, articles, social media and email content.
- Be a brand champion, guiding policy and research colleagues through the publications process, ensuring freelance editors and designers are effectively briefed and content is brand aligned.
- Build relationships with colleagues across the Transparency International movement, identifying opportunities to collaborate to drive impact, and delivering training on best practice communications.
- Contribute to broader communications strategy and the effective operation of the Communications function by supporting on other tasks as required.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of practical experience developing and delivering strategic media and communications activity to support organisational goals, ideally within a campaigning context.
- Knowledge of political, economic, climate or human rights issues is desirable.
- Experience in media relations and working in a press office.
- Degree and/or professional qualification in communications, social science, journalism, economics, or another relevant field.
- Excellent writing and editing skills in English, to native speaker standard, and ability to turn complex issues into accessible language and persuasive messages.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to effectively manage priorities and competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent collaborator, able to work effectively and sensitively as part of an international team.
