Develop and Maintain Server-Side Applications: Node.js Engineers are responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the backend logic and APIs for web applications and other network applications.
Recommend libraries and technical strategies: Recommend libraries and technical strategies for services while retaining compliance with licensing and architectural standards.
Leverage Node.js Features: They utilize Node.js's event-driven, non-blocking I/O model to create highly scalable and efficient applications.
Data Management: They work with databases (principally Postgres, MySQL) and other data storage solutions to manage and retrieve data efficiently.
API Development: They design and implement APIs for communication between the server and other applications or clients.
Performance Optimization: Strong focus on optimizing the performance of applications, ensuring fast response times and efficient resource utilization in a multitenant white labelled solution.
Code Quality: They write clean, readable, and well-documented code, following coding standards and best practices.
Testing and Debugging: They write unit tests and integration tests to ensure the quality and reliability of the code, and debug issues that arise.Special attention must be paid high quality logging and ensuring that services are secure.
Collaboration: They collaborate with other developers, product managers, and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
Staying Up-to-Date: They stay current with the latest trends and technologies in the Node.js ecosystem.
Requirements
Bachelors degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field. (Ideal but not essential - experience counts!)
5+ years of experience in Node.js and Java development, with a focus on building enterprise-level applications.
Strong expertise in Node.js, Express.js, and RESTful (ideally) & GraphQL (desirable) API design.
Proven experience in designing and developing microservice architectures using Node.js.
Deep understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and best practices.
Experience of handling legacy code bases, refactoring and redesigning to align to newer standards.
Familiarity with front-end technologies (e.g., Angular, React) and how they integrate with back-end services.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Proficient in database design and development, including experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering high-quality, scalable solutions.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
